All about Instagram Insights
What do Insights mean on Instagram?
Instagram Insights is a tool you can use to learn more about your account’s followers and performance. You can also view insights on your audience’s engagement with specific posts, Stories, IGTV videos, Reels, and Live Videos. Instagram Insights also includes metrics on paid activity.
To use Instagram Insights, you must have a business profile. If you’re already using a personal account, you can switch to a business profile.
Once you have your business profile, you can view insights from your profile in the Instagram App. You will have access to a summary page. You can then tap on different metrics you would like to see. You can view insights for specific posts, Stories, IGTV videos, Reels, and Live videos. On each screen, you can tap (i) on the top right corner to see definitions for each metric listed on the screen. Insights can be displayed on the app from a preset or custom timeframe within the past 90 days.
The following insights are available for professional accounts on Instagram:
1. Recent Highlights: This section announces any notable increases in performance in your selected preset or custom timeframe within the past 90 days.
2. Overview: This Overview showcases the total number of accounts reached, content interactions, followers, and approximate earnings (if applicable) for your selected preset or custom timeframe within the past 90 days.
Within Overview, you can view a more detailed breakdown. You will see your accounts impressions and insights on your account activity, such as profile visits. If you have a call to action button on your profile, you’ll see the number of taps on that button.
3. Content Interactions: When you tap on this metric, you can see a detailed breakdown of your post, Story, IGTV video, Reel, and Live video content interactions. You can see metrics for likes, comments, saves, shares, replies, and other actions on your content.
4. Total Followers: You can learn trends across your followers when you have at least 100 followers. These insights include growth (how many followers you’ve gained or lost), top locations of your followers, age range, and times they are active on Instagram.
5. Content you shared: This section shows the content you’ve posted and promoted across the feed, stories, IGTV for your selected timeframe within the past 90days. To see all the posts, Stories, IGTV videos, Reels, and Live Videos on your account, you can tap under each content type to go to the media library.
You can also View Insights under individual posts.
Here are four ways to use Instagram Insights for your content strategy.
1. Identify trends by tracking metrics such as likes, saves, and shares.
2. Keep your audience demographics in mind as you create photos and videos.
